MarkerShelf ("the App," "we," "us") is built around a simple idea: your library belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using MarkerShelf, you agree to the practices described below.
The videos you save, and the markers, timestamps, notes, tags, and screenshots you create, are stored locally on your device and synced privately through your own personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This content lives in your private iCloud database, protected by your Apple ID and Apple's platform security. We do not operate a server that stores your library, and we have no access to your videos, markers, notes, or screenshots — only you, and any devices signed into your iCloud account, can see them.
We collect anonymized product-usage analytics (via PostHog) to understand how the App is used and to improve its features and reliability. This data is not tied to your identity, is never sold, and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
If you choose to subscribe, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to track subscription status using an anonymous app-user identifier. No personal information or payment details (such as your name, card number, or Apple ID) ever pass through RevenueCat or through us.

MarkerShelf does not require you to create an account or log in. There is no username, password, or email sign-up needed to use the App.
MarkerShelf lets you save and play back videos from third-party platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, as well as your own videos from Photos and Files. Viewing content from these platforms is subject to their own respective terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Deleting the App from your device removes all content stored locally. Because your library syncs through your own iCloud account, you can also remove synced data at any time via your device's iCloud settings, or by disabling iCloud sync for MarkerShelf. We do not retain a separate copy of your library content once it is removed from your device and iCloud.
MarkerShelf is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
